What is the course about?

This course provides participants with knowledge, confidence and practical skills to adapt physical activity sessions for children and adolescents with differing abilities, long term medical conditions or disabilities.

What does the course cover?

  • Information about the DfES guidance on managing medicines in schools and Early Years settings.
  • Information about diabetes, asthma, obesity and congenital heart conditions
  • Guidelines on safe and effective physical activity for children and adolescents with diabetes asthma obesity and congenital heart conditions
  • Information on how to recognise symptoms of, and manage, an adverse event
  • Principles of Inclusion examining Space, Activity, equipment and participants
  • How to create an inclusive environment  
  • The opportunity to plan and practise delivering inclusive activities specifically exploring warming up, cooling down, active games and challenges.

What are the entry requirements?
Adults wishing to take this course should be one of the following:

  • Level 2 fitness instructor
  • Studio coordinator
  • Camps coordinator
  • Children’s fitness coach
  • Qualified sports coach
  • School teacher or teaching assistant
  • Playworker
  • A manager in the health and fitness sector
  • Play practitioner
  • Youth worker

Certification
Upon successful completion you will receive the Mojo training certificate of achievement in Physical activity for ALL children.

This course is designed for adults (aged 16+) working within children’s environments wishing to progress their career in managing / coordinating children’s physical activity programmes either in the health and fitness sector, community setting  schools, Trusts, or holiday camp provisions

  • How to promote your activity programmes
  • Understanding and maintaining budgets
  • Designing and implementing activity timetables weekly / termly and yearly
  • Customer service strategies
  • Understanding rules and regulations
  • Liaising with external partners
  • Organising your team
  • Organising special events

Safeguarding and Protecting Children and Young People

What is the course about?

This course is designed for adults (aged 16+) working within children’s environments wishing to know more about protection protocol and their responsibilities.

What does the course cover?

  • The foundations of safeguarding
  • The implications for your organisation and you as the coach.
  • Understanding and identifying signs of abuse
  • How to take appropriate action
  • Examining own practices to improve good practices and protocol

What are the entry requirements?
Adults wishing to take this course should be one of the following:

  • Level 2 fitness instructor
  • Children’s fitness coach
  • Playworker
  • A manager in the health and fitness sector

Certification
Upon successful completion you will receive the Mojo Training Ltd Certificate of Achievement in Safeguarding and Protecting Children.

Paediatric Emergency First Aid for Children and Babies

What is the course about?

It provides you with a sound knowledge and understanding of First Aid procedures when working with children and babies.
The majority of First Aid procedures are similar to those used in adult first aid but there are substantial differences in the protocols for resuscitation, choking, casualty handling and incident management.
The 2 day course also provides you with the ability to recognise and treat many childhood conditions and illnesses.

Certification

Subject to ongoing assessment, all delegates will receive an HSE recognised
Certificate - Appointed Person Paediatric – Emergency First Aid in the Workplace. This is valid for a period of 3 years.

Level 2 Award in Paediatric First Aid

What is the course about?
This course has been developed for those who are working with children and infants. It will be of particular interest to teachers, child minders, crèche assistants, playgroup personnel and anyone else who has a responsibility for their welfare whilst in your care.
It is ideal for individuals who are responsible for children and infants, who wish to gain a nationally accredited Level 2 Award.
This two-day course satisfies the guidelines and criteria as laid down by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and OFSTED.

Certification
In order to obtain this qualification, you must attend both days and complete the two units of accreditation. This award is H.S.E approved.

Level 2 Award in Activity First Aid

What is the course about?
This qualification is made up of two units including Emergency First Aid at Work.
It is specifically designed for those who are involved in any form of activity, including sports, leisure and recreation.
Not only is Basic Life Support included, but many other First Aid conditions are also covered, making this qualification very comprehensive.

Certification
Assessment is ongoing by the instructor along with a multiple choice question paper, and a three year qualification will be issued to the learner, subject to assessment.
